Lately, I’ve seen a lot of paper bowls, and thought I’d share some of what I have seen on etsy, like up in the air’s work:

This blog entry inspired me to try using;”kami nendo”-Japanese paper clay.
I saw instructions for making kami nendo beads to be covered with washi. Thought I’d start small with the beads and work my up to the bowls!
And the inspiration doubled, when last week I visited some local artist’s studios, when my local town in Japan had an Open Art Studio Walk around the neighborhood.
There are still several places with pottery kilns in the neighborhood, reminiscent of the days when Bernard Leach, and Shoji Hamada hung out here. More images on Flickr; click here.
