Rakusui-Ganryosome-shi is a native Tosa paper specially handmade by Mr. Haruhiko Tamura who, under Japanese law, has been designated a"Living National Treasure" for his production of this traditionally handmade art paper.
Using the purest kozo (mulberry) fibers, first, the white sheets of paper are formed following a 1500-year old tradition of Japanese hand-papermaking. When the sheets are still wet, water is carefully showered on the sheet to open the delicate holes. After the sheets are dried, each sheet is dyed using light-fast pigments.
This paper is wonderful for layering in collage, for making stationery, and for photo backgrounds.
Package contains ten 10"x 12" sheets.
